INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM
An intensive outpatient program (or IOP) at America’s Rehab Campuses, gives you ongoing support as you continue transitioning to a drug-free lifestyle.
Our programs are designed to work around your busy schedule as you resume your work, school, and family lives. Many patients transition to an IOP after completing an inpatient, residential, or partial hospitalization program.
WHAT IS AN INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM?
An IOP is a 12-week program that meets three hours per day on three days every week. This program is more flexible than most other drug rehab programs and gives you more freedom as it allows you to live at home while visiting the facility regularly to receive therapy. An IOP will help you with continuing to develop and strengthen your coping skills so you remain at a low risk for relapse.
IOPs are customized for each individual patient based on factors such as the lifespan of the addiction, the severity of the addiction, and the diagnosis of a co-occurring disorder such as mental illness or another addiction. Patients in IOPs can resume and re-establish normal everyday activities while continuing to live sober lifestyles.
WHICH THERAPIES AND SERVICES ARE OFFERED WITH AN IOP?
IOPs offer many of the same therapies and services as inpatient, residential, and partial hospitalization programs. Therapies you may receive in an IOP include:
- Group therapy
- Modified 12-step support groups
- Substance abuse education
- Cognitive-behavioral therapy
- Rational emotive behavioral therapy
- Dual diagnosis therapy
- Relapse prevention training
- Recreational therapy
WHICH THERAPIES AND SERVICES ARE OFFERED WITH AN IOP?
These therapies help you improve harmful behaviors related to your addiction and offer continued support as you transition back into society. Family therapy helps you mend strained relationships with loved ones affected by your addiction, which is especially helpful for those who recently returned home after completing inpatient or residential treatment.
